Friday, February 14, 2020 is Valentine's Day.  It causes me to muse a bit on love.  Love comes in all shapes and sizes and many forms.  There is the love of a child for it's parent, the love of that parent for the child.  There is love of friends and family.  There is love for a significant romantic relationship.  Many languages, Greek for instance, has more than one word for love but English, only one.  L-O-V-E.

Many think of love as an emotion but, alas, it is much more than that.  It is an energy - the greatest energy of the cosmos.   Physics is involved with love.  The human heart, the seat of love,   is far more than a mere pump.  It has a magnetic field 1000 times greater than that of the brain.  In 2018, scientists discovered that the human heart has what is termed sensory neurites  -essentially cells that are not unlike the neurons that make up our brains.  When we have "heartfelt" feelings they come from memories that are perhaps stored in these heart sensory neurites.    Placing our hand over our heart can actually help with greater coherence between our brains and our hearts.  Better coherence leads to improved immune systems and a generally feeling of well being.

Love is quiet and pure.  God is love.  God is light.  God is a part of us on the  inside and, therefore, we are love and light.  God knows you and loves you and is delighted when that love is returned.  Spend your life showing love and compassion and it will come back to you ten fold.  That is God's promise.  The promise of love and light.  Happy Valentine's Day 2020 and Namaste.
